This trip was, by far, the most incredible thing I have ever done. I signed up knowing that it would be a new experience and I would be stepping out of my comfort zone, and that is exactly what the trip was about. My time in Thailand was amazing, I learned so many things but mostly and most importantly about myself. The constant smiles and words of appreciation from our project leader, our project supervisor, and the village people we were ultimately helping was always a sweet and kind reminder of why we initially chose to be on this volunteer trip: to help others and learn about ourselves and what we are capable of, both physically and emotionally. I have made friends and lasting memories with them. The universality of friendship and individuality really made this trip meaningful and beautiful to me. I hope to never forget all that I learned over in Thailand and that I will always keep open to meeting new people and learning from new adventures.

I know it sounds super cliché, but my experience with ISV Thailand was TRULY life-altering. Living and working with a group of people you've never met before can be daunting, but I can attest that you will make friends for life. I went into this trip knowing it was going to be a blast. Little did I know that I would find myself along the way. ISV provided this first-time lone international traveler with the opportunity of a lifetime. Throughout the program, I felt very safe. It was clear that ISV had put much time and consideration into the activities we did and tried very hard to accommodate our needs. "Traveling makes you speechless, but you come back a story teller." That's exactly what happened in Thailand. Within the last 4 weeks of being in Thailand I've kissed Asian elephants trunks. I rubbed Siberian tiger’s bellies. I soared above tree tops in the rainforest by zip line. I've gained so many new friendships that will last me a life time and will give me new opportunities of travel. I came back home with so many stories and memories that will last me a life time. International Student Volunteers in Thailand gave me the most amazing experience I have ever had abroad. I have traveled to many different countries, but my time in Thailand is still my favorite. The scenery, mountain views, and temples are unlike any other I've ever seen; they were simply breathtaking. The food is satisfyingly delicious and the language was fascinating to learn. The Thai people and friends I've met on this trip taught me to be more open-minded, to be more free-spirited and to "give my hands to serve and my heart to love". The cultural immersion, heartwarming memories, meaningful relationships, and life changing experience I found in Thailand will forever make this trip my favorite.

Traveling with ISV is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Traveling to a different country can be scary, and a bit of a hassle when it comes to planning everything. I did not have one worry throughout my entire trip because everything through ISV is pre-planned by the program down to meals and accommodations. The best part was that we had tour leaders who lived in Thailand and they were always knowledgeable and teaching us fun facts and recommending what to try every step of the way! I absolutely recommend this program to others, and I hope to continue traveling through ISV myself!

The moments that will stick with me most from my experience in Thailand will definitely be from the two weeks I spent at Ran Tong Save and Rescue Elephant Centre. Every day we were immersed into the lives of the elephants and shown that there is no need to be afraid of these gentle giants. ISV is unique in that not only do you get to volunteer and help those in another country but you also get the opportunity to have a guided tour of the country and major attractions. The ISV group was amazing, our group was small (only 10 of us) and some of them became my closest friends who I am still in contact with! The program was also incredible, waking up and walking to grab coffee surrounded by elephants was a once in a lifetime experience that I consider to be the best thing I have ever done! I would highly recommend this program to anyone between the ages of 18-25 because most of the other volunteers were in this age group. We got to see such an incredible amount of the country- stopping at only the best selected activities along the way. You name it- we did it, bungee jumping, sky diving, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, white water rafting, shopping, rappelling, aboriginal dancing and instrument playing! One must obviously go to get the true experience and perhaps you will understand why it is so difficult to explain in words!

I have to say it was the most amazing and unforgettable experience of my life. The two week volunteer project was the most fun I had doing volunteer work ever. The people I worked with and shared in this experience have become life long friends and companions in my life today. There are so many memories, pictures, and journal entries that I think back on and automatically I am there with them all again enjoying and remembering our good times. I wouldn't ever trade my experiences that summer for anything in the world. I made a thousand memories and good friends to share a wonderful experience, and nothing can ever replace that summer.

The trip encompassed more than volunteering--I got to know a group of college students from across the country. We spent the first two weeks in secluded areas surrounded by wildlife. In the mornings we woke up to kangaroos eating outside our doors. Following the two weeks of volunteering, we embarked on the greatest adventure of our lives. We met up with other volunteer groups to travel the east coast of Australia. Along the way we surfed, rappelled, snorkeled, shopped, hiked, swam, four-wheeled, encountered native animals, experienced native culture, and bungy jumped. The bonds we made will last a life-time.

Going on ISV was the best decision I've ever made. I had the most amazing 4 weeks of my life! The first 2 weeks of volunteering were so great. I learned so much about conservation and nature, what it means to live simply, and things about myself. The next 2 weeks were the most fun filled, adventurous, adrenaline rushing time of my life! All the activities from scuba diving, snorkeling, bungy jumping, white water rafting, ocean rafting, sky diving, Sydney Harbor cruise, and many more were the most exciting, fun, and amazing experiences. I would go to bed every night saying that was the best day of my life, and then the next night I would be saying the same exact thing. I never felt unsafe or in danger with ISV and I would go back in a heart beat!

Participating in an ISV program was, and probably will still be, one of the best experiences of my life! The volunteer portion of the program really integrates you into the country and teaches you about the culture and environment you are working in. The second part of the ISV program is the adventure tour, which is the most fun and adrenaline pumping two weeks you will have in your entire life! Everyday had some kind of amazing activity like white water rafting, snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, visiting an Aboriginal park, and free days where you can relax, explore, or participate in offered activities in the area. Overall, this trip is worth every penny and you will have the experience of a lifetime!

We then got to meet up with all the travelers for ISV in Australia and travel down the coastline from Cairns to Sydney- and this is where the Adrenaline began! We went bungee jumping, sky diving, snorkeling on the great barrier reef, white water. My experiences in Thailand are the best I have ever had, and I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone who has a desire to travel. This experience made me realize how lucky I am and has changed my views on the world and how to live life. I am forever grateful for ISV and this volunteer trip and am already trying to plan a trip back!

This trip was, by far, the most incredible thing I have ever done. I signed up knowing that it would be a new experience and I would be stepping out of my comfort zone, and that is exactly what the trip was about. I knew nobody going into the trip and came back with lifelong friends. I learned so much about the many cultures of Thailand and so much about myself. My favorite moment was being surrounded by elephants and exquisite people in the jungle-something I will never forget.

I knew going into this trip that it would be an experience of a lifetime and that I would learn so much about a new culture, the world and myself. Every single day of the entire month completely exceeded my already high expectations. It was truly life changing and I'm forever grateful to have been a part of ISV. The adventure tour was insanely incredible and I went on adventures that I never thought I would go on but volunteering was no doubt my favorite part. Highly recommend!!!

I cannot sing ISV's praises enough: they are remarkably thorough and ethical and it is obvious that they care deeply about how much people enjoy the program. ISV Thailand had it all: cultural immersion, language exposure, AMAZING people, valuable and rewarding work, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I would recommend this program to everyone.

I went into this trip knowing it was going to be a blast. Little did I know that I would find myself along the way. I spent two weeks volunteering at Ran Tong Elephant Sanctuary where I learned not only about Asian elephants but about how an individual can make a difference. I found a new family at Ran Tong between the other volunteers and the workers/locals. I grew as an individual in more ways than one. Volunteering abroad with ISV was the best choice I could have made.

ISV provided this first-time lone international traveler with the opportunity of a lifetime. Throughout the program, I felt very safe. It was clear that ISV had put much time and consideration into the activities we did and tried very hard to accommodate our needs. I made friends with people I never would have met otherwise and despite our different backgrounds, ISV provided an environment where we could all feel comfortable with each other. The volunteer project was extremely life changing.

When I first heard of ISV programs, I knew right away that it was going to be a lifetime experience. ISV Thailand was an adventure that I will never forget. The adventure tour was so much fun! Did so many different things with a group of people that will be lifelong friends! My favorite part was traveling with a group of people that had a common goal. It was to impact our world in a positive way while traveling and exploring an exotic country like Thailand.

I recommend anyone setting out on a new adventure to a new place and immerse yourself into their culture.

There are so many things that I would not have been able to do if I had made this trip by myself or even with others that have never been to Thailand before. All the staff and leaders that were with my group were very informative and had lived in Thailand, so they were able to share special information all throughout the trip. The moments that will stick with me most from my experience in Thailand will definitely be from the two weeks I spent at Ran Tong Save and Rescue Elephant Centre. Every day we were immersed into the lives of the elephants and shown that there is no need to be afraid of these gentle giants. During our project we had the mayor of the village, the head of the village, and the former head of the village, helping us the entire time with our construction. They were incredibly kind and welcoming and taught us as much Thai as they could considering their English was quite poor.

This was an amazing trip! I made life-long friends from across the country and had adventures I never thought possible. The conservation project was fun and rewarding. The adventure tour afterwards was jam packed with activities! I'd do it again in a heart beat...worth every penny!

In Australia, I volunteered at the Walkabout Wildlife Park for two weeks. It was an incredibly rewarding experience. I think to know that we really made a difference is what made my experience memorable. We helped the park by clearing trails so that they can focus their energy on other projects and by making and fixing enclosures for the animals to make them feel more comfortable. During all of this, I met amazing people who share the same values of volunteering and conservation as I do.

Australia made me break out of my shell and become more of who I wanted to be. I took my fears and I conquered them. By the time I was sent home I wanted to go back. I learned so much and I can never repay that joy.

While traveling on the adventure portion of the ISV program, we went to Fraser Island. The waters around the island are known to be shark infested, so swimming is not allowed. We had the opportunity to fly in a tiny plane around the island and during the flight we saw multiple sharks, whales, turtles, dolphins, and sting rays! This was my favorite location in Australia and it was so exciting to see marine life from a plane.

I couldn't have gone on this trip at a more perfect time, after my first year of college. I learned so many things about the many new friends I made, but more importantly, I learned a few things about myself. That part of the trip is absolutely priceless.

This was my first trip traveling alone and it opened up a whole new world for me to explore. The structure of ISV: two weeks of volunteering and then two weeks of exploring the east coast of Australia, allowed the best well rounded experience for a first time traveler. The best part about volunteering (besides helping out the environment 🙂 ) was being able to participate in local events that a tourist wouldn't normally see. It was an overall amazing experience that set my life into craving more adventure and traveling to more places!

My travel experience through ISV was one of a kind. It was the first time I'd traveled to a country while also being able to make a difference that I could come back to in the years to come. We got to spend a week working in a sub-tropical rain forest and the second week rehabilitating a local beach that had just been hit by a storm. (We also got to go surfing later on the same beach). One of my favorite parts was being able to see wild kangaroos on the beach at sunset. The view was breathtaking and the wildlife was amazing.

I said 'remember this moment,' in the back of my mind.". Wise words by an even wiser Taylor Swift. So not only has ISV given me a chance to explore one of the most beautiful countries in the world and chance to ACTUALLY make a difference in the world, but it has given me some great friendships.

Traveling with strangers from all over your own country, then meeting people from another country; you grow as a human being and take away a whole different understanding of the world. The ISV staff do a great job keeping participants well informed, prepared and safe from the moment you sign up. After my trip with ISV I had a lot more confidence traveling on my own.

Do yourself a favor: sign up with ISV. I had the time of my life and for two weeks I was able to experience Australia with seven other wonderful individuals who were around my age and had similar life goals. I wouldn't take back this experience ever. It seriously changed my life.

It is said "To travel is to take a journey into yourself". With this idea in mind, I signed up to take the trip of a lifetime. I decided to make an impact on this world, while also wanting to impact my life. ISV trips provided the opportunity to do both! I not only made the best friends of my life, that to this day I am in contact with, but these experiences have left their mark on me. I experienced a new culture by stepping outside of my comfort zone, and thanks to this trip, my "travel bug" has only increased, and my passion for travel has pushed me to further my horizon and see more. So DO IT! Just book the trip and GO! You'll thank me later.

Overall, this was an incredible journey, and the memories and friendships will last a lifetime. I recommend this program to anyone with an open mind, sense of adventure, desire to make a positive impact on others and themselves, and willingness to step out of the comfort zone to try new things (foods, activities, etc.) I am looking into participating in another ISV program in the near future.

I had the most amazing experience in Australia with International Student Volunteers, I wouldn't trade it for the world! I was able to complete 80 hours of community service and take away some life long friends from my experience. I got hands on with wildlife that I never would have been able to experience if I hadn't traveled with ISV!

Words cannot even describe how incredible my ISV Australia experience was. I was able to gain hands-on experience with several native Australian animal species, including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, flying foxes, and much more! During the Adventure Tour, I was able to cross off snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef from my bucket list, and it truly exceeded all of my expectations. ISV organized everything so that we were able to work hard, have fun, and learn as much as possible.

With ISV you get hands-on experience, immersing yourself in the country's culture, gaining more knowledge than you ever could gain just by sitting in a classroom. The last two weeks are the adventure tour, where you will participate in fun, but, sometimes, extreme activities! You will see The Great Barrier Reef, a bunch of wildlife, pet a koala bear, explore Sydney, white water raft in the rainforest, bungee jump etc.

ISV Australia has provided me with experiences that I will cherish for the rest of my life! The ISV staff are incredible and the individuals I met within my volunteer group have been some of the greatest people I've met in my entire life. The conservation work my group did was so fulfilling it made me change my major of study once I completed the ISV program! Don't let anything hold you back from joining ISV on a volunteer program because you 110% will not regret it!!

I am so thankful I made the decision to participate in the program. I met some of the most incredible people on the volunteer project who shared my passion for learning and volunteering in order to make a difference in the world and I truly believe we did. The adventure tour was also beyond anything I could have imagined. It forced me outside of my comfort zone more times than I could count, but the friends I made, laughs we had, and memories I now carry everywhere with me were 100% worth it! International Student Volunteers is a wonderful program and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone even the slightest bit interested! 🙂

Trust me, you want to do it all. And trust me even more when I say you are going to be in good company. ISV picks the most amazing team leaders. My group cried when we left our project leader, Meg and we bawled our eyes out when we had to leave each other and that is only after 4 weeks! This experience is life changing and I recommend you go to isvolunteers.org and you sign up today because you will never have another experience like it.

This trip was the best decision of my life. We had so much fun during our volunteer weeks. The next 2 weeks was the adventure tour. I got to do so many things in 2 weeks that most people do not do in their life. We did things that made me step out of my comfort zone and conquer my fears (rappelling). I also got to do things I have always wanted to do (snorkel the Great Barrier Reef). I made so many friends during this month and I want to go back!

Signing up with International Student Volunteers for a summer session was the best decision I have ever made! Along with doing some amazing conservation and preservation work, I met many friends from all over. I learned a lot about myself and about the culture from where I stayed while abroad. This volunteering opportunity looks great on applications and is well worth it!

Traveling to Australia through ISV was easily the best experience I've ever got to be a part of! From the moment we stepped off the plane in Brisbane, everyone we came across made us feel so welcomed in this new environment. My project leader was amazing, and our project hosts at Wild Mountains were some of the greatest, most passionate people I've ever met in my life. It was amazing to see the kind of impact we got to make on our world in those two short volunteer weeks. The adventure tour was also amazing! In the two weeks, I got to experience so many amazing adventures that most people won't even get to experience in their whole lifetime. From bungee jumping to white water rafting.
